Final Fantasy XIV Online, initially titled Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn at launch, is a multiplayer MMORPG game developed by Square Enix Creative Studio III and published by Square Enix. It is part of the Final Fantasy series.
The game is both a remake and a sequel to the original game of the same name, chronologically takes place five years after the end of the original game. The PC version of the 2013 game is capable of cross-platform play with the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version.[1]. The game initially had cross-platform play with the PlayStation 3 version, but was removed following that version'd shutdown on June 16, 2017 with the start of the Stormblood early access.
It was released on Windows on August 27, 2013. An MacOS version, ported by TransGaming, was released on June 23, 2015.
New content updates are released every 4 months, though most additional content may require the latest expansion to play.

Issues unresolved
Error 90000
- This is a generic error code for disconnection from the game server. This issue may have something to do with your local network configuration, or ISP packet shaping/throttling.[6]
Fatal DirectX Error (11000002)
- This is a generic error appearing when some sort of graphics or graphics driver issue causes the game to grow unstable and crash.
- These errors are typically caused by high GPU load or graphics card overclocks; the game is very sensitive to unstable GPU and memory clocks and will frequently crash in scenarios where other games would not.
Issues fixed
Broken TAA/DLAA in some scenarios
- All forms of temporal anti-aliasing are currently broken while performing some actions that lock the player in place, including but not limited to:
- Various quest cutscenes throughout the game
- Talking to NPCs in situations that do not initiate a cutscene
- Using the Group Pose (/gpose) feature
- Buying/selling items at vendor NPCs or using the Summoning Bell
- Crafting/gathering
- While performing these activities, the TAA component of both TSCMAA and DLSS will stop working, negatively impacting image quality.

Other information
- Previous versions of the game prior to Patch 6.58 included a 32-bit/Direct3D 9 client on Windows systems.
However, support for this client has since been discontinued, so it has been completely removed in the wake of Patch 7.0's release[9].

- WARNING: Under the Final Fantasy XIV Terms of Service, third-party addons are not condoned nor officially supported by Square Enix.[11]
While the usage of third-party addons is not necessarily a bannable offense, discussing third-party tools in-game or posting modded screenshots/videos with identifying information (character names, etc.) can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the game. Proceed at your own risk!
