Input settings[edit]

Keyboard and mouse Native Notes
Remapping
Oddly the F1 to F8 keys can be fully remapped, and you can swap WASD and arrow keys. No other keys can be rebound.
Mouse acceleration
The games mouse support has been patched and now works well to control the camera as expected. Acceleration follows windows settings.
Mouse sensitivity
Three presets
Mouse input in menus
Mouse cursor automatically hides during gameplay with a controller properly as of the latest patch. Reappears correctly for the Steam overlay.
Mouse Y-axis inversion
The game does have a camera invert option, which works fine with a controller or the mouse. The airship can also have a seperate, different invert setting.
Controller
Controller support
Full controller support
Only XInput controllers are supported. Only Keyboard and Xbox 360 controller button prompts are available - can't be toggled on the fly, only pre game via the launcher.

Issues fixed[edit]

Audio in Cutscenes out of sync[edit]

Caused by refresh rates higher than 60Hz. Limiting the framerate to 30 FPS or your refresh rate to 60Hz resolves this issue[citation needed]

Game crashes after launching at "Fabula Nova Crystallis" splash screen[edit]

The cause of the issue is unknown - Square-Enix noted that they were investigating but have not updated the game since the first weeks after release.[1] A workaround involves launching the game on Steam through an alternate Windows user account. This circumvents the crash and allows the game to function[citation needed]

Black screen without sound during pre-rendered cutscenes[edit]

Re-/Installing the Media Feature Pack, Windows Media Player and/or Codec Packs like K-Lite Codec Pack or CCCP can resolve this problem[citation needed]
It is unknown what exactly fixes the black screen during FMV cutscenes as some people still report this problem.

Issues unresolved[edit]

Crackling and popping of audio in FMVs[edit]

On some setups the audio of FMVs don't seem to play correctly. The audio has popping and crackling present akin to time stretched synchronous audio. Might be due to Sample Rate[5]

Game does not load on Windows 10 r1803[edit]

After Updating to r1803, cutscenes do not load and will cause the game to crash to the desktop. The game is playable if the cutscene is skipped (or the movie files are moved from the game folder), however this means the player will not see any of the FMVs.[citation needed]
