Issues fixed
'Cryengine error' and 'DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED'
- Problem is normally caused by faulty or underpowered power supply, or overworked graphics card.
Underclock graphics card[8]
|
Downgrade drivers, from version 314.07 to 302.80, the first driver without WHQL[citation needed]
|
AMD GPUs - add power/wattage to graphics card[10]

FPS issues on AMD cards
- Games based on CryEngine may have observable decreased in performance with AMD GPUs on Windows 10 compared to Windows 7.[11]
- Since the version 2004 of Windows 10, timer resolution can't be changed system-wide, thus the workaround below may not work, refer here.
- Vega series GPUs may perform worse than the RX series GPUs on Windows 10 in CryEngine games, in comparison to Windows 7.[12] This is likely a driver issue, however. So updating graphics driver may fix the issue.
Adjust timer resolution with TimerTool.
- For Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and Windows 10 before 2004 update, using TimerTool with settings set to 0.5ms can be use for best performance.[13]

Memory allocation error on low-memory system
- The game needs at least 600 MB, and up to 700 MB of free memory for the game to load between levels properly, even on Low Details settings. Otherwise the game will shows an error. On system with only 2 GB of memory, and running Windows Vista or later; this may not be avoidable.
- Possible workaround includes using ReadyBoost with twice the memory size, or increase the virtual memory size. The latter, however, is not recommended for Windows 8 or later unless.
Use Smart RAM from IObit or "RAM optimizers"[citation needed]
|
- Use it at your own risk and save important files before proceeding further, "RAM optimizers" typically involves stopping services or closing background software that normally not able to be terminated by user.
When game shows ending section cutscene on the level:
- Set low details.
- Use option "deep cleaning" in Smart RAM.
- In result of deep cleaning option, big amount of RAM is freed.
- You'll encounter short unresponsibility of the system (according to working of versions of the Smart RAM to at least versions till ~August 2016).
- When computer will be responsive again, just come back to the game.
- You can normally change the details, immediately after first loading of a level.
- Since now, game loads normally during the whole level, without any problem, till the next one.
Similar functionality can be found in CleanMem, but it is not tested.
- If the issue occurred on system with more than 2 GB of RAM, using NTCore 4GB patcher may fix the issue, like its use was recommended for Crysis 2.

Stuck installation
Reboot Origin into safe mode[14]
|
- Reboot Origin into safe mode.
- Reload game.
|
Hacking finishes with no result
- There is a problem with in-game hacking mechanics, where successful hacking will end in no expected result. Example: hacking tutorial will not end, door will not open shortly after single player campaign starts.
Unbind F key[citation needed]
|
There seems to be problem with binding F key. Keep F key unbound or bind it to USE action.
|
Game crashes
PlayerProfiles CGameContext::StartGame: No Users Logged In[citation needed]
|
The game may crash with the above error message when launching a campaign mission. Launch Crysis3.exe as an administrator to avoid this.[15]
|
Frame rate capped at 100 or 64 FPS, even with V-Sync disabled
- Updates to Windows 10 have resulted in incompatibility with older CryEngine games, which may result in a capped frame rate. Windows 7 is also affected, but only in menus (eg. pause menu). Enabling NULL appears to have no effect under Windows 7.[16]
Set Low Latency Mode to Ultra[17]
|
- Go to the Nvidia control panel, set Low Latency Mode to Ultra for Crysis 3 in the "Manage 3D Settings" tab and press Apply.
|
Set max frame rate to 1000 in Nvidia control panel[18]
|
- Go to the Nvidia control panel, set max frame rate to 1000 for Crysis 3 in the "Manage 3D Settings" tab and press Apply.
|
Apply RTSS framerate limiter[19][20]
|
- Download and install RivaTuner Statistics Server.
- Run it.
- Click the "add" button and navigate to where you installed Crysis 3 and add Crysis3.exe.
- Set framerate limiter to any number (e.g. 200).
- Minimize (don't close) the program.

Missing voices in cutscenes of non-English versions
In some non-English game versions, the file Crysis 3\C3\videos2.pak
is bugged, leading to missing voice acting during cutscenes.[21][22] Many users reported getting the bug since a patch.[22][23][24][25][26][27][28] The reason is maybe a patch that month which "cleaned up" the audio files but was bugged and never fixed.[29][30]
The problem is that the videos2.pak file does not contain the necessary lines for languages other than English. When unpacking the .pak files (requires this tool), you get a number of .usm files. Those can be extracted with VGM toolbox (tutorial). Each of those has a different .adx file for each language version, but in the game downloads only English is included.
Fixes are available for the following language versions:
