Goal

Our goal is to provide fixes for every single PC game...
xkcd: Wisdom of the Ancients

We've all spent hours trawling through forums, websites and support Q&A to get a PC game to work. Do you spend more time researching and setting up games than actually playing them? We present to you PCGamingWiki, with a page for every PC game, for optimisations, settings, common fixes and hacks. Let's fix PC Gaming!

Featured by: Kotaku, Destructoid, TotalBiscuit, Rock Paper Shotgun, GamingDaily, TruePCGaming.

We aim to provide the information about the following:

  • Performance issues and fixes.
  • Bugs, workarounds and community patches.
  • Optimisations, cfgs and hacks.
  • Save game locations and syncing.
  • Alt-tab and fullscreen windowed mode.
  • Cutscene and video skipping.

We are not interested in:

  • Illegally acquiring DLC.

Please contact Andytizer if you are interested in helping to implement MediaWiki translations, as we currently need technical template work on this project. Dravic is leading on the Polish translation project.

There are a huge number of technical issues involved, please be aware that we are working hard on this. For now you can visit the new Polish language portal.

Come and view the notable releases list, for important games that have been released recently, or will be released soon. Message a moderator or hop onto the webchat if this list needs updating.

In an effort to provide the best articles we can, there is an ongoing push to improve existing articles on this wiki. If you see an article that looks sloppy, is marked as a stub, does not adhere to the standard article layout, or is missing information, please contribute and clean it up.

With sites like Mediafire increasingly coming under fire, it's becoming harder and less safe to host files. To combat this, we have developed the Citadel Project. Our ambitious project is to host all game patches, fixes, mods and utilities on our own own BitTorrent seedbox. If you have a relevant game related file that hasn't been linked to on the wiki, or notice a download link on the wiki that isn't part of the project yet, please go to the Citadel Project page, and see what you can do to help. We are particularly interested in rarer and hard to find files.

18 May - Andytizer away for a week.

14 May - New System Requirements table.

8 May - Sample article has been updated.

20 April - We are beginning an ambitious new Polish translation project.

13 April - Our Kickstarter is up.

1 April - Display issue on the Home (and other) pages.

26 March - Updated to MediaWiki 1.19.

25 March - Issue with threading on the forum and talk pages has been fixed.

Breach Of Terms Of Service

Jay Wilson, Game Director of Diablo III, stated the following on 13 May 2012:

"TOS against mods is so we can ban cheaters. I agree DarkD3 is not a cheat...yet. As long as it is not a cheat, no ban is likely."[1]

Jay Wilson previously stated that altering graphics is against Terms Of Service, and can result in a ban.[2] Following this guide using Darker D3 is at one's own risk.

Steam
Steam

Steam is the popular digital distribution platform launched by Valve Corporation in 2003, and is natively supported on both Windows and Mac. Steamworks games activate through Steam through a serial key, and many games can be bought outside of Steam through a variety of retail and digital distribution channels.

Always Force Offline Mode

Forcing Offline Mode will make Steam to always open in Offline Mode, even with a working internet connection. A prompt will appear and the options Retry and Offline Mode will show up. Retry will simply restart Steam and cause the same menu options to come up, whereas Offline Mode will take one into the Steam game library.

This step still requires the authentication to be carried out.
