The game engine may allow for manual configuration of the game via its variables. See the Unity page for more details.

Ultra-widescreen

Resolution can be manually set using GameConfig.txt in the configuration file.
The developers recommend against using ultra-wide resolutions due to the potential to break game elements.
At Eyefinity/Surround 3 screen resolutions, the game is entirely unplayable due to off-screen oversized UI, missing dialogue boxes, and broken cutscene sequences.[5]
Modify GameConfig.txt[6][7]
  1. After launching the game once, navigate to the configuration file location.
  2. In the Fell Seal folder, open GameConfig.txt with Notepad or another text editor.
  3. In the [graphics] section, replace the numbers of resolutionx (width) and resolutiony (height) with your desired resolution.
  4. Save and exit the document.

Notes

To revert these changes, change the variables back to a basic resolution (e.g. 1920 and 1080), change the setting in-game, or delete GameConfig.txt.

Issues fixed

Error message when attempting to save

Create an exception for Fell Seal with the PC's antivirus software[8]

Screen flickers, or background turns black during cutscenes and on the world map

Allow the game to enable V-sync[8]
V-sync is always on by default within the game. The video card drivers may be set to override Fell Seal's setting, which can cause this issue.
  1. Change the video card driver setting for V-sync to "application controlled".
Modify GameConfig.txt[9]
  1. Go to the Configuration file location.
  2. Open GameConfig.txt with a text editor.
  3. Add these lines under [graphics]:
    fps=true
    fixflicker=true
  4. Save the file and launch the game.
If streaming to Steam Link, adjust in-game video settings[10]
  1. Set the Fullscreen video setting to Borderless.
  2. Try setting the game resolution to the native resolution of the Steam Link's display (e.g., 1920x1080).
  3. If the issue persists, try setting the game resolution to match the PC desktop resolution.

Character sprites display improperly on OS X

Use the -force-glcore command line argument[11]
Use the -force-opengl command line argument[11]
Use the -force-gfx-metal command line argument[11]

Sound does not play correctly when streaming to Steam Link

Update Steam Link software to the latest public build[10]
