Insomniac Games, Inc is a American video game development studio and is a subsidiary company of the PlayStation Studios division of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Insomniac was founded as Xtreme Software, Inc. on February 28, 1994, before renaming to Insomniac Games, Inc in 1995. Insomniac is best known for creating the Ratchet & Clank series of video games, though the game series was mostly console-exclusive until recently. Insomniac began developing PC ports of their games starting in 2015, either on their own or in collaboration with other game studios.

Following the success of Marvel's Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4, Insomniac was later acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2019. Since then, PC ports of Insomniac's games were developed in collaboration with Nixxes Software, another subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
