Uplay is a launcher client included with many Ubisoft games. It includes friends lists, achievements and other features. It doubles as a ‎DRM measure.

In July 2012, it was revealed that a browser plugin installed by Uplay in most major browsers contained a security vulnerability allowing a website to launch any program or modify/erase the contents of a user's hard drive. In response, a patch was released.
