Key points
- Virtual reality (VR in short) means simulated enviroment experienced by user, with PC gaming, this means usage of virtual reality headset with games.
General
- There are four standards when it comes down to VR headset support on PC: Steam VR (also known as OpenVR, not to be confused with OSVR), Oculus, Open Source VR (aka OSVR) and Windows Mixed Reality. Games can utilize multiple standards, however games only utilizing other standard and using the headset with the other standard requires usage of compatibility layer.
