Version differences
- The Epic Games Store version was, as of 29/02/2024, the most up-to-date version due to what appears to be an oversight of releasing an older build onto other platforms by mistake. Turns out the EGS version was the development build released by mistake. This was "corrected" by "downgrading" the EGS version to the same version as others, then later all platforms received "Update 1", with the GOG version being delayed several days before finally getting the update (current as of 16 March 2024).

Issues unresolved
Noticeable frame stuttering
- The game has noticeable frame stuttering when vsync is enabled, especially on Nvidia GPUs.
(Nvidia) Set Vulkan/OpenGL rendering to prefer DXGI interop[12]
|
Notes:
- This completely resolves the issue.
|
(AMD/Intel) Force OpenGL triple buffering[7]
|
Notes:
- This fix greatly reduces frame stuttering, but does not completely resolve the issue.

Modifications
- Makes the in-game key collectibles, especially grey-colored ones, more visible.
Remove Original Graphics mode's 30 FPS cap (Experimental)
Hex-edit tomb123.exe [15]
|
- Open
tomb123.exe with a hex editor.
- Search for
24 20 41 B9 1E 00 00 00 .
- In that hex change
1E to anything between 1E and 3C . (First replacing with 23 is recommended.)
- Save the change.
Notes:
- This fix has been tested with the Steam, GOG and Epic versions.
- This makes the actual game run too fast, not just the frame rate.
|
Enable linear texture filtering in Original Graphics mode (Experimental)
Hex-edit tomb123.exe [16]
|
- Open
tomb123.exe with a hex editor.
- Search for
00 26 00 00 .
- Replace the 3rd and 4th hits with
01 26 00 00 .
- Save the change.
Notes:
- Linear filtering has some issues with texture edges.
|
Keep clothing changes outside Photo Mode
This mod keeps whatever clothes selection was made within Photo Mode when returning to gameplay.
Hex-edit game files[15]
|
- Open
tomb1.dll , tomb2.dll and tomb3.dll with a hex editor.
- In each file, search for
02 00 00 00 0F 84 02 02 00 00 .
- Replace with
02 00 00 00 E9 03 02 00 00 00 .
- Save the change.
- Repeat until all three files have modified.
|
Customize in-game text
Change In-Game Text[17]
|
- Navigate to
<path-to-game>\1\TEX .
- Select the folder of the desired language: e.g.
EN = English.
- Open the
COMMON.TXT file in a text editor:
- Each piece of text in the game is bound to a variable. For example:
ACT_RUN shows text for changing controls text for Run
PS_* variables are related to the photosenitive warnings.
DC_P1 and DC_P2 are for the Content Warning messages.
TI_P1 and TI_P2 displays Trademark messages.
- Make the desired changes. For example, the text for
ACT_RUN can be changed from Run to Jog .
Notes:
- This can especially be handy for localizing the game in languages not officially supported by the game. Users will need to edit the other text files inside the same directory to translate the rest of the game's text.
