Essential improvements
Skip intro videos
- On very slow machines, some assets might not finish loading on time, causing visual glitches.
Video settings
- Video options can't be change in-game. You must launch the configuration tool to change video settings.
Other aspect ratios
- Flawless Widescreen can hack the game to run on any aspect ratio, and without letterboxes.
- For ultra-widescreen and multi-monitor setups, it can also center the HUD, which will otherwise be stretched. This does not work with lower ratios (e.g. 16:10, 4:3).
- This, however, will cause the player markers on the HUD to become misaligned from the actual racers, and the mouse cursor to move slower in the horizontal axis.
Input settings
- Key and controller bindings must be changed in the configuration tool. Inversion and vibration options must be changed in-game.
- Also supports motion controls under Windows 8.

Private Matchmaking lobbies
- Private matches can be created more easily by using the Custom Game option. This hack of sorts is intended for private ranked matchmaking lobbies only.
- Although not an official option, it is possible to play privately on matchmaking mode by using the -internalid command line argument![3]
- This option will force the game to connect only with players who are using the same internalid.

Issues fixed
Stuttering
- Stuttering can be caused by high framerates (>60).
- Turning on V-sync resolves this problem.[4]
Issues unresolved
Missing objects on ATI Radeon HD3000
(also on entry-level Radeon HD4000; mid- and high-end models work fine)
- Objects like the water and boost pads, essential to gameplay, will not render at all.[5]
- No single fix for every system.
- This is a driver issue, and not much can be done about it.
- It may be partially fixed by messing about with the game's settings and window (minimizing, moving it, or even opening UAC prompts)[6], but even this will only make the objects slightly visible and still hard to see.

Water section of Seasonal Shrines. Not pictured: water.
- SART radeonhd3000 partialfix oceanview.png

Shadow stripes
- This occurs on some old NVIDIA GPUs, like the GeForce 7600GS (AGP8x). Unfortunately, there is no known fix.[7]
