Cyberpunk 2077 is a singleplayer first-person action, RPG and open world game.
Initially announced in May 2012 and featured at E3 2019, the game was set to be released on April 16, 2020, followed by a delay to September 17, which was further delayed to November 19, and subsequently the final date of December 10.[1][2][3] Upon launch, the game had around 830k concurrent players on Steam, a new record for a single-player game on the platform,[4] but was also affected by a number of bugs and issues ranging from minor visual issues, performance issues and crashes, as well as game-breaking bugs that necessitated resetting to an older save, if one were available.[5] During the first weeks after launch three hotfixes were released to address some of the most critical issues.
On January 13, 2021 CD Projekt Red released a statement of their commitment to quality and laid out a roadmap for further updates and improvements to be released during 2021, which they largely kept to, although some of the later planned updates were pushed to 2022.[6] The game's major expansion, titled Phantom Liberty[7][8], was released on September 26, 2023.

DLSS 3.5, FSR 2.1, XeSS 1.2 DLSS Frame Generation was added through an untitled update on January 31, 2023.[29] DLSS Ray Reconstruction was added in Update 2.0. [30] FSR 2.1 was added through update 1.61, replacing FSR 1.0.[31] XeSS 1.1 was added in 1.62 update.[28] XeSS 1.2 was added in 2.1 update.[32] All three options have sharpness and dynamic resolution sliders. |

Has options for scRGB or PQ HDR10,[33] as well as setting for peak brightness, paper white, and tone-mapping midpoint (exposure). Current implementation suffers from clipping past set peak nits, raised blacks, and oversaturation from image stretching. Use RenoDX. |
Ray tracing (RT) |
|
Directional/local shadows, reflections, diffuse illumination, ambient occlusion and a single-bounce global illumination pass. NVIDIA RTX hardware supported at release. AMD RDNA2+ support added in patch 1.2.[34] Path Tracing: Technology Preview mode was added in 1.62 update.[28] Technology was moved out of Preview mode in 2.1 update.[32] |

- DLSS requires temporal anti-aliasing to function; disabling TAA will prevent DLSS from working.
Add INI tweak to disable TAA[37]
|
Create (or open) the <path-to-game>\engine\config\platform\pc\user.ini file, and add the following inside it:
[Developer/FeatureToggles]

INI settings
- The game will read 1000+ hidden settings from inside INI files if the file exists.
- INI files should be placed inside the
<path-to-game>\engine\config\platform\pc\
folder.
- A list of all the setting names & default values can be found on NexusMods: [3]
- The game doesn't actually include a list of these settings anywhere, so any new settings need to be extracted from each patch manually.
Slow hard drive mode
Under "Gameplay"-"Performance"
|
- Even with SSD, enabling it may help with FPS drops when driving/exploring the city.
- No visible graphical downgrade except slightly higher VRAM usage.
- Note that using this option may cause audio/video to de-sync, cause dialog to go out of sync with subtitles, or cause voiced dialog to sometimes skip lines before they have finished.[citation needed]
- Note that using this option is the culprit of NPC and car duplicates.[49]
|
Use all logical cores on AMD CPUs
- Update 2.0 added an "AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT)" option to the Gameplay settings menu. The option is set to Auto by default, allowing it to change based on current CPU usage patterns.[50]
Adjust AMD SMT setting[51]
|
- Navigate to Settings > Gameplay > Performance, and set AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) to On or Auto.
|
Mods
- On September 2022, CD Projekt released REDmod, a free DLC that allows for easier modding.
Outside of REDmod, which is designed to be used in conjunction with WolvenKit, Cyber Engine Tweaks adds basic Lua scripting support, allowing the game to be modded, it also includes a console, allowing the use of further commands.
The game allows .archive
and .reds
(RedScript) files to be loaded. (requires RedScript and redext mods) Alongside CET, RedScript and red4ext, some mods will also make use of Input Loader and cybercmd.

- A 64-bit operating system is required.
System requirements were increased with the release of Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty.[52]
Support for Windows 7 was dropped with Patch 1.5.[53]
The game originally required a CPU with AVX instructions support, but patch 1.05 forwent this need.[54] POPCNT[55] (and some other degree of SSE4)[56] is still necessary though.
More system requirements for Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended, and RT Overdrive are also available.
Notes
- ↑
--launcher-skip
skips the separate launcher.
-skipStartScreen
skips the "Breaching..." start screen.
-modded
is required for mods dependent on REDmod to load when skipping the launcher.
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Notes regarding Steam Play (Linux) data:
- ↑ HDR settings are not accessible without the appropriate hardware.
- ↑ DLSS and Ray Tracing settings are only available on Nvidia RTX hardware, Ray Tracing only on AMD RX 6xxx hardware. Dynamic and Static FidelityFX CAS cannot be enabled at the same time in-game.
