Key points

Disadvantage The OS X and Linux versions of the game do not have a launcher, making certain features hard to configure.
Disadvantage Online multiplayer in DRM-free versions has stopped working on May 31, 2014 due to GameSpy services being shut down.[1]
Disadvantage The Linux version has game breaking bugs and lacks certain features.

Fix Rename the main EXE file[3]Link

  1. Go to <path-to-game>\Binaries\Win32
  2. Rename DungeonDefenders.exe to DungeonDefenders.old
  3. Rename DunDefGame.exe to DungeonDefenders.exe
  4. Launch the game.

Connectivity Issues[edit]

Information You may receive a message "Connection to host has been lost". This is a misleading error message indicating that you do not have DLC owned by the host.

Information Before changing any of the entries in the below file, please make a backup of file for safety.
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Open UDKGame\Config\UDKEngine.ini
  3. Make the changes below.
Information After making modifications to UDKEngine.ini file, set file to read-only to prevent game client from resetting changes that were made. Also, Steam will reset this game file if it needs to verify the game cache - make a backup as needed.

Full Screen Split-Screen With Dual Monitors[edit]

Fix AMD EyefinityLink

  1. Enable Eyefinity mode using the two monitors you want to use.
  2. Run Dungeon Defenders and set the resolution (via the launcher options menu) to the resolution of the Eyefinity monitor you have created (E.g. 3840x1080).
  3. In-game, set the split-screen mode to Vertical.

Fix Nvidia SurroundLink

  1. Enable Nvidia Surround mode using the two monitors you want to use.
  2. Run Dungeon Defenders and set the resolution (via the launcher options menu) to the resolution of the Surround monitor you have created (E.g. 3840x1080).
  3. In-game, set the split-screen mode to Vertical.
