Essential improvements[edit]

DPfix 0.9.5[edit]

Advantage Increases resolution above 1280x720, adds many graphics/window options and more.
Disadvantage When running the game in fullscreen mode, using Alt+Tab will crash the game. Use windowed or borderless windowed mode to prevent these crashes.
Information To use unzip the files to the game's install folder, and change the options you want in the DPfix.ini file.

Controller remapping[edit]

The game's launcher allows to rebind all the buttons as well as triggers. However the game uses DirectInput, instead of modern XInput API - because of that, you cannot bind Look / Draw Weapon to Left Trigger and Attack to Right Trigger, as pressing both will result in no action being taken.

Character can't aim upward properly[edit]

Fix Set DP.exe to run in compatability mode for Windows 98, then set DPLauncher.exe to run as administratorLink

Crash when entering a car or in general[edit]

Crash during cutscene in episode 1 chapter 3 (hospital level)[edit]

Fix Select "Controller" as your controls in the launcher to prevent the crash.Link

Crash at the beginning of episode 2 chapter 9 corrupts save file[edit]

A common occurrence is for the game to crash during the cutscenes at the start of episode 2 chapter 9 (the chapter starts right after you unlock the office in the Art Gallery and the cutscene with Diane plays) and corrupt the save file. The cutscenes should be skipped to avoid this.

  1. Open the Start screen/Start menu, type joy.cpl and press Enter.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Ensure your controller is set as the preferred device.
  4. Click OK to save your changes and close the window.

Launcher options constantly scroll up[edit]

Fix Remove all possible Bluetooth devices, such as a Wii Remote.Link

Game crashes on startup[edit]

Fix Go to the "redist" folder inside the game's folder. Use PhysX_SystemSoftware.exe to uninstall and reinstall PhysX.Link
