The GOG.com version of System Shock 2 is the best version because it's DRM-free, patched with fixes, and includes extra items such as music, concept art, and wallpapers.
Improvements
SS2Tool
- Installs the NewDark patch and fixes various issues.
- Use SS2Tool for all versions of the game.
System Shock 2 Mod Manager
- Manual install is recommended, as the Mod Manager has not been updated for many years and is incompatible with some newer mods.[2]
