Essential improvements[edit]

Skip intro videos[edit]

Skip intro videos[citation needed]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\data\movie\.
  2. Rename or remove the files named pg.sfd, and either b_jp_0000.sfd or b_us_0000.sfd. The last two are region specific, so choose which one applies to you.
  3. Create 2 new, empty dummy files in their place (an empty text document will do for example). Name the 2 replacement files pg.sfd, and either b_jp_0000.sfd or b_us_0000.sfd.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)

Vertical sync (Vsync)
60 FPS
120+ FPS
The game appears to default the monitor's refresh rate to 60 hz; on high refresh rate monitors this can result in reduced smoothness even if the internal GPU render shows a high fps. Manually resetting the monitor's refresh rate solves this issue.
Use the -monitor 2 (or any number in a multi-monitor setup) command line argument to set the default monitor.
