I started PC gaming in 1993 with X-Wing and the original Doom shareware.

  • CPU : Intel i486-DX2 (66 MHz, 32-bit)
  • GPU : 2D VGA, 640x480 (3d cards not available until the late 1990's)
  • RAM : 8 MB
  • Monitor : 14" CRT
  • Storage :
    • OS : 100 MB HDD
    • Other : 3.5" floppy, 1.44 MB
  • OS : Windows 3.1
  • Cost: Around $2000 (including monitor), which is about $4000 adjusted for inflation to 2023.

Notes to self

"More, Purge Cache" at top-right of page usually fixes corrupted formatting after seemingly innocuous edits. Especially true for pages that use #cargo_query. I first encountered this on the page "List of games that support controller remapping" Thanks for the tip from Dandelion_Sprout (t c f) , via Discord
