  1. Run the Hardware Setup tool and select 1024x768.
  2. Go to the savedata folder in the installation folder.
  3. Edit pchardwareconfig.ini.
  4. Change the FullScreenHeight= and FullScreenWidth= values to match your resolution.
  5. Change the FullScreenRefresh= to your resolution's refresh rate (usually 60 or 75).
  6. Save your changes.


Enable windowed mode[citation needed]
  1. Go to the savedata folder in the installation folder.
  2. Edit pchardwareconfig.ini
  3. Change StartWindowed=0 to StartWindowed=1
  4. Save your changes.

Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/11500/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (11500) may differ in some cases.
