It crashes loading the game with the error message Mode Selection Error.[citation needed]

Issues fixed

Game does not run on Windows Vista or above

It has a poor compatibility for Windows NT.
Some graphic video drivers are required.
It doesn't work playing on virtualization, it starts by an error message reading MODE SELECTION ERROR.
Use nGlide
  1. Download and install nGlide.
  2. Run nGlide Configurator from the start menu.
  3. Select your screen resolution. Change Aspect ratio to Entire screen if you want to play in widescreen, and click Apply.
  4. Run <path-to-game>\RallySetup.exe.
  5. Change Renderer to Voodoo5 (tm) with Glide 3.0 and click OK.

Vsync option not working on Windows 10

The game uses Vsync to enable but in Windows 10 does not work because the game uses DirectX 8 and the Vsync of DirectX 8 in Windows 10 is broken.

  1. Download d3d8to9.
  2. Copy D3D8.DLL from the folder to <path-to-game>.

Missing AVI FMVs files

Fix video files with compatibility mode
