Widescreen fix^[1]

Download the widescreen patch by a link.
Select the patch on 64:27, 16:9 or 16:10 and click it when it extracts the file.
The files will be replaced, but a folder will be backed up.

Notes

Force the display's native resolution with dgVoodoo and choose any available resolution with matching aspect ratio in game settings. Use Direct3D mode.

If ProRally.exe can not open because editing the .exe file failed, use alternative download^[2]

Incompatible with nGlide. The in-game HUD is Vert-.

Game not working on all modern gamepads

It crashes loading the game with the error message Mode Selection Error.^{[citation needed]}

Remapping controls may crash the game.

Issues fixed

Game does not run on Windows Vista or above

It has a poor compatibility for Windows NT.

Some graphic video drivers are required.

It doesn't work playing on virtualization, it starts by an error message reading MODE SELECTION ERROR.

Use nGlide
Download and install nGlide. Run nGlide Configurator from the start menu. Select your screen resolution. Change Aspect ratio to Entire screen if you want to play in widescreen, and click Apply. Run `<path-to-game>\RallySetup.exe`. Change Renderer to Voodoo5 (tm) with Glide 3.0 and click OK.

Vsync option not working on Windows 10

The game uses Vsync to enable but in Windows 10 does not work because the game uses DirectX 8 and the Vsync of DirectX 8 in Windows 10 is broken.

Download d3d8to9. Copy D3D8.DLL from the folder to <path-to-game>.

Missing AVI FMVs files

Fix video files with compatibility mode
Open `ProRally.exe` Enable Windows XP (SP3) compatibility mode.
