  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\KingKong\{2C391F94-B8B9-4832-9C57-3AFC332CC037}\Basic video
  3. Change the WindowedMode value to 1.

Notes

If the game crashes during the intro videos, remove or delete them.
If the game stops responding during level loading screens, just give it some time to load, it's only the screen that isn't being updated correctly.

Anti-aliasing (AA)[edit]

Force anti-aliasing[5]
  1. Download and run NVIDIA Profile Inspector.
  2. Search and open the King Kong profile.
  3. Add KingKong8.exe to the profile.
  4. Set Antialiasing compatibility to 0x000012C1.
  5. Set Antialiasing mode to Override.
  6. Set Antialiasing setting to desired AA (MSAA,TrSSAA,SGSSAA,HSAA).
  7. Apply changes.

Notes

Forcing MSAA or SSAA in the Gamer's Edition will cause major graphical issues.
Use injectSMAA[3]
  1. Download and extract injectSMAA.
  2. Copy the files from the d3d9 folder to the game installation folder.
  3. Open injector.ini to change the settings.

Notes

ThirteenAG's fix uses its own d3d9.dll to limit the framerate, use RivaTuner Statistics Server instead to avoid conflicts.

Game breaking bugs at high frame rate[edit]

High frame rates will cause some enemies to freeze in one spot, break NPC scripting in certain areas, and disable the screen when the player takes damage.
Install ThirteenAG's fix[citation needed]
Edit d3d9.ini to set a custom frame rate limit.

Crashes on the "Chased by V-Rex" level[edit]

The game may crash after climbing the initial wall and following the river.
