Use windowed mode[citation needed]

Set up D3DWindower to run the game in windowed mode.

Use DLL fix[citation needed]
  1. Download Windows 8 Fix.
  2. Extract the DLL to the installation folder.

Audio issues[edit]

On modern computers, audio may have issues such as dialogue skipping at some points. In this case, to solve the issue you have to set the sampling frequency from the control panel of your audio card to a lower level (44.1 kHz should be fine).[citation needed]

  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/224920/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (224920) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
