Acquária: O Jogo is a Brazilian action-adventure game developed by
Green Land Studios
and published by
Cia do Software
in June 1, 2003, three mounth after Sandy & Junior: Aventura Virtual release.
The game is based on a film of the same name and also released in 2003. After constant attacks on nature, the planet's water is practically depleted and young Sarah and Kim try to find a way to obtain this precious resource that is indispensable for the survival of humanity. According to the developers, they received the film's script in advance to work on the game's scenarios, models and story, to release it alongside the film later that year - a strategy widely used by major film and game studios to this day.
Unfortunately, the film was considered a box office failure, which directly affected the game's sales.[1]
