Mega Man X4, also known as Rockman X4 in Japan, is a singleplayer side view scrolling platform game developed by Capcom. It is the 4th main entry in the Mega Man X series.
The PC version of the game is a port of the PlayStation and Sega Saturn game of the same name and was developed in-house by Capcom. It was released on December 3, 1998, published by Media Kaito in Japan, Capcom's Capcom Entertainment in North America, Virgin Interactive and AcerTWP in Taiwan.
FMV playback in the game requires the Indeo 5 codec, with alternative codec replacement available for modern operating systems. The game's installer was written for 16-bit system and doesn't run on modern OS, requiring workarounds such as running 32-bit InstallShield 3 software to install the game (but will not create desktop or start menu shortcuts for the game).
