Key points
- Can only run stably on a single core. Use Modern Compatibility Fix (if North American version) or sh2proxy (if European Director's Cut version). It is recommended to use the latter.
- The PC version adds improved flashlight lighting, the ability to save at any time during the game, swap weapons without opening the menu, and a movie gallery.
- The atmospheric fog and the shadowing are much simpler and less refined than the PlayStation 2 version.[1]
- Locked to 30 FPS.

- Released on 3 CD-ROMs.
Essential improvements
sh2proxy
A D3D8 wrapper for the European Director's Cut version which allows:
- Custom resolutions and widescreen
- Windowed and borderless windowed mode.
- Fixes anti-aliasing and processor affinity.
- Allows you to use a high resolution without slowing down transition speeds.
After installing sh2proxy, you can download this optional alternate executable which disables cut-scene letterboxing: http://ps2wide.net/other/sh2pc.7z
Modern Compatibility Fix
Allows higher resolutions and easier anti aliasing application (at the cost of some glitches). Only use this for the North American version.
Instructions |

- Selectable resolutions do not go up all the way to 4k, enabling GeDoSaTo or Nvidia DSR does not affect the list. Selecting a higher resolution than your monitor's crashes the game.
