Issues fixed
Graphics/colors problem
Color banding problem without wrapper
- Depending of your video card you could have some graphical problem ingame. A graphic wrapper can fix this problem. The wrapper can also improved the graphics of the game by forcing a superior resolution, AA that is not possible though ini.
Use dgVoodoo[citation needed]
|
- Download dgVoodoo.
- Copy D3DImm and DDraw dll's from the MS folder to the game installation folder. For convenience you can also copy dgVoodooSetup.exe but it's optional.
- Launch the dgVoodooSetup.exe and verify the "config folder/ running instance" is showing the location of the dgVoodooSetup.exe, config file will be created there.
- In the DirectX tab, choose an TI4400 or a Radeon 8500 videocard or dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card and max VRAM.
- Optional :Force Anti Aliasing Anisotropic Filtering And Force Higher Resolutions.
- Apply any changes, you can exit the configuration application and launch the game. If you have "dgvoodoo Watermark" selected in DirectX tab you will be able to easily verify that the wrapper is running. After that it can be deselected to remove the watermark from the game.

Can't Select Eax or Surround sound After Surround sound Restoration
- By default the
DSOUND.dll
of the creative alchemy and other sound wrapper is ignored by the game. So no surround sound or EAX can be selected.
- Download the Dsound fix
- replace the mss32.dll file of the game by the one in the zip
- Creative alchemy and any other ds3d wrapper should now be working as intended.
- Surround sound should be working and you can now activate EAX if want.
Game crash when closing the medal case
- This game crashes when you want to close the medal case on modern windows OS, a patch exists to fix this problem.
- This fix also forces the game to run on one core, so no need to use the imagecfg after that.
- This fix may cause temporary hangups when used in conjunction with DgVoodoo on an Nvidia graphics card thanks to the driver maxing out a UMD open adapter query during 2D<>3D transitions, use 1.0.2 for this case only.
- Because both fixes turn on win98 heap emulation, Force Feedback will not work correctly for weapon fire and collisions.
Starlancer Crash Fix 1.0.1[citation needed]
|
- Download StarLancer Crash Fix.
- Install the Application Compatibility Database with the batch included in this file.
- Do not use any compatibility mode on the Game exe after that.
- The medal case should now be usable without any crash of the game.
