::* Corrections to a few problems with objectives, weapons, weapon screens, and descriptions
{{ii}} This patch comes in three different versions: Lite, Fat-free and Full.

::* The Lite version ditches fine-tuned cut-scenes and only includes essential improvements (18 out of 64 cut-scenes); everything else is intact.

::* The Fat-free version is the same as Lite only with lower-quality cut-scenes to save space.

::* The Full version version contains all the improvements to the cut-scenes (49 out of 64), however with a size of 1.5 GB.

Essential improvements

Advent Revising

Advent Revising is an unofficial patch that focuses on improving and fixing cinematics and minor gameplay issues. It features:
  • Corrections to the majority of cut-scenes and subtitles (fixes to audio desync, sound errors, playback speed...)
  • 12 missing Xbox cutscenes
  • Adjustments to .ini files (removing black bars, enabling trilinear and Vsync, adding extra keybindings...)
  • Corrections to a few problems with objectives, weapons, weapon screens, and descriptions
The Digital versions incorporate Advent Revising as of April 2021.[4][5]

Widescreen resolution

Install Advent Revising and change resolution in Mydefault.ini[citation needed]
  1. Install Advent Revising
  2. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  3. Open Mydefault.ini.
  4. Find FullscreenViewportX= and FullscreenViewportY= lines.
  5. Change the values to your screen resolution and save.

Notes

Output always has letterboxing (disabling this stretches the output).

Field of view (FOV)

Add FOV keybinding in defuser.ini[6]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open defuser.ini.
  3. Change =MoveForward to =MoveForward | OnRelease FOV 91 (replace 91 with the FOV you want).
  4. Save your changes and close the file. The FOV will be applied as soon as you move forwards.

  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open default.ini.
  3. Find the line UseVSync=, change it to True and save.

Xbox 360 Controller

The game doesn't support Xbox 360 controller natively, but it can be configured to work in this game.
Configure controller keys in-game and add this code[7]
  1. Configure controller keys in Control options.
  2. Exit the game.
  3. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  4. Open MyDefUser.ini (be sure to back up this file if something goes wrong during the process).
  5. Under [Engine.Input] (if you can't find the line, insert it), add the values below for the analog sticks and save.
JoyU=AxisRaw aLookup SpeedBase=3 DeadZone=0.25
JoyR=AxisRaw aTurn SpeedBase=3 DeadZone=0.25
JoyX=AxisRaw aStrafe SpeedBase=300.0 DeadZone=0.25
JoyY=AxisRaw aForward SpeedBase=300.0 DeadZone=0.25 Invert=-1
JoyV=
JoyZ=

Notes

After doing this procedure, don't go to Control settings because even if nothing is touched, it will cause troubles with camera. If you do have to go there, go to MyDefUser.ini and leave JoyV and JoyZ empty.

Issues unresolved

Game crashing

Incessant camera spinning

If you feel dizzy of constant camera spinning, make sure, one step at a time to:
Make sure to check these[citation needed]
  1. Run the game in administrator mode (right click -> Run as Administrator)
  2. Not have a controller plugged in (or follow X360 controller instructions.)
  3. Set up the camera settings in the game menu.
  4. Maybe fiddle with JoyY and JoyX strings in MyDefUser.ini (or with other Joy* settings) if you want to play with a controller or with MouseY and MouseX if you don't.
