This page is for the 1997 Sega Saturn port. For the 2010 Sega Genesis port, see Virtua Fighter 2 (2010).
Virtua Fighter 2 is a singleplayer and multiplayer side view arcade and fighting game in the Virtua Fighter series.
Virtua Fighter 2 was first released for the Sega Model 2 arcade platform in late 1994. It was released for Windows PCs on September 5, 1997. The PC version of the game is a port of the Sega Saturn version and includes all additions from said version, but comes with some graphical setbacks, such as fully 3D backgrounds from the arcade version being replaced with plain 2D backgrounds (thus also making some stages simplified in the process) and the absence of lighting.[2]
While the game runs generally fine on modern systems, the Learning AI system cannot be managed using Windows 7 and earlier compatibility mode; see Play in 16-bit color depth for fixes.
