Essential improvements

Downgrading

A majority of essential mods and fixes are incompatible with the Steam version, among other issues and features that were simplified or removed from the Dreamcast version. The following tools below can downgrade the game to its 2004 version.
A list of additional recommended mods for the 2004 version here and here.

BetterSADX

A simple patching tool for the Steam version that offers mod presets between restoring the missing or simplified Dreamcast features or refining the GameCube version's features from stable mod releases.
Converts save files from the Steam version to be compatible with the 2004 version after downgrading.

SADX Mod Installer

An advanced patching tool that offers bleeding edge mod updates, multiple mod presets (Dreamcast, Enhanced SADX, Minimal), a Guide Mode for selecting individual mods to install, a Custom Mode for full customization, and configure SADX Mod Loader settings during installation.
Includes a custom configuration GUI tool to tweak various game settings and remap controller and keyboard bindings for the Input Mod. It is also compatible with BetterSADX and can be downloaded here.

Issues fixed

Low frame rate

If the frame rate is stuck around —40 FPS and won't rise to 60, disable the in-game FXAA and Vsync and instead force them through the Nvidia/Radeon control panel instead.[4] Alternatively, if forcing Vsync and FXAA via video card control panel does not fix the issue, downgrade the game to the 2004 port and patch it with mods via BetterSADX or SADX Mod Installer.
