Issues fixed

Installing on 64-bit versions of Windows

By using a custom installer[citation needed]
  1. Download and extract D2KInst.zip.[5]
  2. Insert the Dune 2000 CD in the optical drive.
  3. Run D2Kinst.exe and follow the prompts.
  4. Install Patch 1.06 if you would like your game to be up to date.
  5. Launch the game.
Manual method[citation needed]
  1. Run Universal Extractor.
  2. Extract SETUP\SETUP.Z on the CD to a folder somewhere convenient.
  3. Go to the extracted folder.
  4. Edit RESOURCE.CFG
  5. Change data lines pointing to movies, music and missions to the optical drive (e.g. D:).
  6. Save the changes and close the file.
  7. Install Patch 1.06 if you would like your game to be up to date.

Notes

The CD must be in the drive to play.
If the game refuses to start a new game with the CD you have made a mistake with these steps.
