BlackSite: Area 51 (also known as BlackSite outside of U.S.) is a sequel to 2005's Area 51. It is a first person shooter developed by Midway Studios Austin.
The game was released on November 12, 2007 for PC and Xbox 360 and on Playstation 3 few months later.
Currently the game remains unavailable for purchase in digital distribution. A brief glimpse of hope for digital re-release was seen in mid-2020, but Steam Group "Sentinels of the Store" quickly realised that supposed publisher itself put it out illegally.[1]

Issues unresolved
Dynamic shadow rendering bug.
Dynamic shadows enabled(up) and disabled(down).
Dynamic shadow rendering bug
- Dynamic shadows of certain characters and objects are rendered incorrectly.
- Turning off dynamic shadows in video settings isn't an improvement, because it also turns off light in outdoor areas.
Game freezes when changing video settings
- It can sometimes happen that the game freezes when changing dynamic light, anti-aliasing or filtering mode in the video settings menu.
Delete the settings file[2]
|
- Go to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Midway\Blacksite
- Delete the file
settings.dat
- Next time the game is launched it will create a new file with default settings. Change the settings in the options menu.
