Use winedvm[4]

  2. Run otvdmw.exe.
  3. Navigate to SETUP.EXE on the CD and click Open

The game closes by itself after passing the logos.

Use an unofficial patch
  1. Download and extract Chicken Run patched executable.
  2. Go to <path-to-game>, and delete or rename crunpc.exe.
  3. Place the new crunpc.exe in <path-to-game>.

The game does not start.

Use DgVoodoo 2 wrapper[5]
  1. Download and extract DgVoodoo 2 wrapper.
  2. From MS folder copy files D3DImm.dll and DDraw.dll and place them in a folder with a game (where crunpc.exe file is).
  3. Start dgVoodooSetup.exe and configure General Settings.
  4. Go to DirectX tab and make sure Disable and passthru to real DirectX is unchecked.
  5. Choose dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card in Videocard field.

I checked it myself on my laptop, although the error code only happened to me once, in the end it did let me reconfigure the keys but in the launcher they are still mentioned as the default ones. However, when I run the game, the keys that are assigned are the ones that are used and not the default ones. Checked on Windows 11.
