Glossary:Local co-op

From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games

Two players work together in Valve's Portal 2 using the game's split-screen feature.

Local co-op, also known as same-machine multiplayer, is a feature of many games which allows multiple players to play together cooperatively on a single computer. Note that, for the purposes of this wiki, this page covers only cooperative games, and competitive or team-based games that feature local multiplayer are covered in Glossary:Local play.

Local co-op can exist in multiple forms, including split-screen, single-screen, and hotseat-based gameplay, although the latter of the three is mostly used in competitive settings.
