Widescreen resolution
- You need a no-CD executable -this is the only way- and replace the original exe
- Download UniWS and open it
- Set what resolution you want for NFS:U2 and point it to wherever your game is installed
- Patch it and (in the in-game menu) set 640x480 reslution

Field of view (FOV)
- You need ReLOADeD US crack, other version will have problems
- Download Racer_S fov changer and set horizontal and vertical FOV
- FOV changer has to be running beside game
Windowed
Wiccaan did a tool to make game run windowed
Download here but be warned: that's a trainer too, so stay away from functions keys of the keyboard if you don't want to cheat

Controls doesn't stick
From Windows Vista onwards dimap.dll is not included anymore. This make NFS:U2 unable to keep memory of your controls after you have close it. To fix you only need to find this dll and place it in the game folder.
Play with cars from different regions (from EU to US and viceversa)
If you plan to play with the Peugeot 106 and the Vauxhall Corsa in the US version (recomended if you plan to change FoV), just click on the link above and follow instructions.
For European players here's Honda Civic and Acura RSX.
Then you can use the included pre-made savegame (to play the exotic cars) or you can also switch your game executable. Just remember that the game will often hang if you do this without placing the relative cars files into the game folder.
