Shadow Man Remastered | 2021 |
Shadow Man Remastered is a Remastered port of the action adventure metroidvania game Shadow Man that adds New content, Modern PC game features such as 4K Rendering, Dynamic Lighting, Etc and restores content that was cut from the original release.
Shadow Man was originally released for PC, Nintendo 64 and the original Sony PlayStation in August 31st 1999 and was later ported to Sega Dreamcast in December 1st in the same year. The game was developed by Acclaim Studios Teesside and published by Acclaim Entertainment. Each version had their own unique differences. The PC version is the original and highest quality version with uncompressed audio and the highest graphical quality. Both the PS1 and N64 versions have slightly redesigned and simplified areas with a few missing small areas (due to hardware limitations). The PS1 version has a low frame rate and is quite glitchy, some sound effects are also missing and some enemy sounds are pitched up. The N64 version has the worst lighting quality and heavily compressed audio with some sounds and music missing. The Dreamcast version is nearly identical to the PC version but with slightly compressed sounds and voices, glitchy music and sounds, sped up sound effects, 60fps with some frame rate drops, darker lighting and new animated water textures. A remastered version by Nightdive Studios titled Shadow Man Remastered was released on April 15th 2021 for PC, January 13th 2022 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and January 17th the same year for Nintendo Switch.
There is a new update for the game V1.5, which adds even more content and changes (including the optional Dreamcast water textures and a new boss).
