i modified a character mesh on BL2, pulled the .fbx out, modified it, exported as an .fbx and imported to UPK and clicked Create game patch. it made a folder with a few files and TFC installer accepted it. even when i go back into UPK to look at the meshes again its still there, yet in game it doesnt show up. im very new to this so im assuming ive just done something wrong

It is likely that the mesh is being loaded by a UPK that's loaded before the one that you've modified. Try giving the mesh object a new unique name so it will be loaded as a new object.
Btw for future reference, it's best to message us either on Discord or on our Nexus page - we don't get notifications for wiki discussions and we only really look at the wiki page when we're updating it.
