British/American English?

Hi, Just a quick one. Do we have a policy on whether we solely use American English or if it's authors discretion? Because as I am British I feel I consciously have to type words in American English, and I'm pretty sure there are spellings I take for granted which are not present in American English which I would type unaware.

As a Brit myself, I sympathise. However in terms of search enginge optimisation and consistency (and the fact that 50% of the readership is from North America) I think it's best to stick to US English for the writing on the article pages.

There should be no policy. Write in your own language. The variations between British English and US English spellings will not affect peoples searches. Google automatically includes all English locales in searches anyway. The differences are pretty minor anyway.

The biggest issue is correct spelling and grammar which will affect those whose first language is not English.

I agree with Thunderbolt, and it is true that Google treats each English language variant equally, and we should write in a style that we are most comfortable with.

However for the sake of consistency of the URLs, I think it's best to use US English for page titles, for example, http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Color_Fixes_For_Older_Games

Thank you, this makes sense, and it's much easier for me now!
