The Meta Quest Touch Pro are a pair of game controllers released by Meta on October 25, 2022. They were released alongside the Meta Quest Pro VR headset.
Unlike past Meta VR game controllers which rely on cameras on the external tracking stations or the VR headset for tracking the controllers' rotation and position, the Touch Pro use the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM for short) tracking; Each controller has three built-in cameras, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC for the processing. The use of SLAM tracking eliminates the 'deadzone' problem that plagues other VR controllers (in which the controllers won't track properly when they were out of the camera's view). The controllers also come with the pressure-sensitive stylus tip accessories that can be attached to the bottoms of their handles for drawing and writing.
In addition to being bundled with the Quest Pro, the Touch Pro controllers are also sold separately, and come with their own charging dock for charging.
While they were designed specifically for the Quest Pro, the Touch Pro controllers are compatible with the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3, meaning that they are compatible with SteamVR.
