Jogcon on Wikipedia

The Namco Jogcon is a game controller released by Namco on December 3, 1998.

What make the Jogcon unique is a 3-inches dial located in the center, which can be used for steering in racing games. The dial also has motorized force feedback that works in supported games on the PlayStation console. Supported games on the PlayStation consoles includes Ridge Racer Type 4, V-Rally 2, Pac-Man World, Breakout and Ridge Racer V.

It can acts as a normal PlayStation Controller, which can be activated by pressing the ᴍᴏᴅᴇ button. While not documented in the user manual, the Jogcon has the NeGcon compatiblity mode where the dial is emulate the twisting input of the NeGcon, though said mode cannot be activated by normal means as it requiring holding the ᴍᴏᴅᴇ button while turning on the host device.

Because it has a proprietary PlayStation controller port, it requires an third-party adapter for connecting to the PC, but even then, it only work as a DirectInput controller with most adapters, requiring the use of wrappers in games that only use XInput API. Full utilization of the Jogcon's features, including the dial's force feedback mechanism, requires specific adapters.
