1.11 Patch
The 1.11 Patch fixes several bugs and adds some mouse options, and can be downloaded directly from Ubisoft. The GOG.com and Steam versions already have this patch.
Play on Linux
The only way to run the game on Linux is through Wine. It works fine after installing These video Codecs. Installing the codecs will "fail", but the game will run fine after that.

Issues fixed
Crash on startup
The original disc version of the game usually tends to crash on startup when run by a newer OS. This isn't permanent though, and can be fixed by opening and closing the game a few dozen times.
Link book videos display solid white & general instability
The Steam version of the game on Windows 7(possibly others though unconfirmed) displays the videos of the game's link books as solid white and the game has major slowdown and crashes quite frequently. The solution for this is to navigate to "Steam\steamapps\common\Real Myst", and right click "RealMyst.exe" selecting properties. Go to the compatibility tab, and check "Run this program as an administrator", and "Run this program in compatibility mode for", finally selecting "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" in the drop down.
