- Setting the sound quality in Windows above 44100 kHz could crash the game after the warning screen or result in audio desync when the game is playing prerendered cutscenes or other video files
Localizations
- All non-English audio languages from the original game (French, German, Italian, Spanish) have been removed in the Remastered version. However they can be restored with this mod

Audio/Video desync in cinematics
- The built-in video player has a bug on some PC systems where the cutscene video files might play with slowdown, however the audio track plays properly, causing desynchronization between video and audio. You can either change the output sample rate of the default audio device to 48000 Hz, or you can download an archive with re-encoded video cutscenes and extract it
<path-to-game>\video\
replacing the original files.
Mono Audio in cinematics
- Unlike the original 2009 game that had 5.1 surround sound, the remastered version seems to be limited to stereo output while in-game. Additionally, while the prerendered cutscenes (such as the intro, gb01) are in "stereo", the cutscenes generated with the game engine (such as CS_FH1_01a) are in "mono". Nevertheless, stereo sound can be achieved for all cutscenes with this mod.

Licensed content restoration
- Restores licensed brands and items from the original version of the game: the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor that the Ecto-1 is built out of, several retro advertisements such as the 1991 Doritos ads, and New York license plates.
This section may require
cleanup to meet basic
quality standards. The specific problem is:
the meaning of .\
is ambiguous; consider rewriting for clarity. You can help by

- The game's music is stored as Ogg Vorbis files, but these files are contained within proprietary containers and archives.
Use scripts to isolate music files[10]
|
Prerequisite programs:
Directions:
- Download and run the
ghostbusters_pod.bms QuickBMS script (direct link) to extract <path-to-game>\W64MUSND.POD to a new folder.
- Download StripSmp.sh and run the
.sh file in the .\sound\music subdirectory of the folder where the .POD file was extracted.
- There should now be a new folder at
.\sound\music\vorbis containing the music and ambience files. If desired, use zzz_FixExtensions.bat to rename the files from .smp.ogg to just .ogg .
