Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires[Note 1] is a singleplayer third-person hack and slash, strategy and open world game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. It is a part of the Dynasty Warriors franchise within the larger Warriors series.

It was first released in East Asia with the available languages of Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean on December 23, 2021, and launched in 2 different edition for purchase: The normal edition and the Deluxe Edition. Deluxe Edition consists of Season Pass DLCs and two pre-order DLCs, one of it which is only available for free within 14 days starting from Asian and Western launch date.

A patch was released on January 14, 2022 to fix a bug in which the game supposed to give out a bonus gem if you have save game of Warriors Orochi 4, Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate, Dynasty Warriors 9 or Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires.

English, French, German, Italian and Spanish languages were added on February 15, 2022 in conjunction of console release in Western hemisphere.[1]
