The game can be manually setup to run from the hard drive instead of CD.

Copy files from disc^[1]
Copy the following files from the Croc 2 CD to `<path-to-game>`: `defanim.wad` `fesound.wad` `Loading#.bmp` `logos.avi` `Trademarks.bmp` Copy the `wads` and `music` folders from the Croc 2 CD to `<path-to-game>`.

Open `Croc2.exe` with a hex editor such as HxD. Press `Ctrl`+`R` and set Datatype to Hex-values. Search for `0000403F` and replace it with: `0000203F` for 16:10 screens `9A99193F` for 15:9 screens `0000103F` for 16:9 screens `B66DBD3E` for 21:9 screens Save the file.
