Issues fixed
Unable to enable Hardware Acceleration on modern versions of Windows
- Fixes hardware acceleration, improves performance and graphical effects.
Install the Bejeweled 2 Deluxe patch[3]
|
- Download the Bejeweled 2 Deluxe patch here
- Open the
.zip file and open the bejeweled-2-deluxe folder.
- Extract the relevant folder of the edition (Steam, or PopCap) of the game to <path-to-game>.
- Copy the relevant Bejeweled 2
nosig+vmem+vcard.exe and Test3D-clean.reg to <path-to-game>.
- Rename the relevant
nosig+vmem+vcard.exe file to WinBej2.exe (Steam) or Bejeweled2.exe (PopCap).
- Run the game and enable Hardware Accelerate and High resolution.
Notes
- If Hardware Accelerate still refuses to be enabled, run the included
Test3D-clean.reg file.
- The original .exe for Bejeweled 2 Deluxe is included as a backup if something breaks.

Alternative workaround for low FPS
There are three ways of fixing the problem:
- Use the 3D acceleration patch mentioned above previously.
- Disable hardware acceleration if fullscreen is on.
- Play the game in a window. Hardware acceleration works fine while the game is windowed.
BASS_ChannelPlay function not found in bass.dll
This is a DLL version conflict. Bejeweled 2 is looking for bass.dll in c:\windows\system32
or c:\windows\syswow64
, and it's a version different than what it expects.[4]
- Backup and remove the DLL file from the window folder.
- Note that downloading the latest version from the Un4Seen website will not help.
