Save game location
- The save folder was relocated in a November 23, 2012 patch.
- If you change the YML config file to allow offline play, or if you select the Uplay launcher to stay offline in the options, then your progress and games will NOT be saved!
- You CAN turn cloud-sync OFF in the options, but you must allow Uplay to go online to allow Aassassin's Creed II to save games to this location on your local hard drive.

Issues and Fixes
DRM
Assassin's Creed II uses Ubisoft's Uplay DRM. Formerly, an always-on internet connection was required to play the game. In a later patch, an internet connection is still required to launch the game, but is no longer required throughout play.
Xbox 360 Wireless Controller fix
Both Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed II use the DirectInput API to communicate with game controllers. Although Xbox 360 controller support is bundled with the game by default, wireless Xbox 360 controllers use a newer API named "XInput." Because of this, both games do not recognize the Xbox 360 controller as such, and not only mis-map the buttons, but also disable use of the Xbox 360 controller's triggers.
To enable optimal support for the wireless Xbox 360 controller, specifically generated DLL files are required. A program titled x360ce can help users generate these DLLs. While user khemitude has created these DLLs and freely distributed them on the internet, these files are largly outdated and it may be best to simply create your own using x360ce yourself. However, if you wish to download them anyway, mirrors can be found here, here, and here. To generate your own DLLs, follow the following steps.

Odd Lighting Bug
Odd lighting bug that causes lights to shine through walls and other objects. This issue is cause by the nVidia Control Panel forcing graphical settings on. A fix to this is to enter the NVIDIA Control Panel select "Adjust image settings with preview" option and then select the "Let the 3D application decide". This should fix the lights shining through everything.
Game Freeze When Given Hidden Blade
You must press "2" to select the weapon to continue the cut-scene, default mapped keys do not work as they should.
