Issues fixed
Settings aren't saved (Steam)
- The game saves its settings in the Windows registry. The keys are not created by default and need to be created. Once created, the settings can be edited from the launcher and they will be saved.
Add keys to the registry[3]
|
- Create a new temporary text file anywhere.
- Name it as
nosferatu.reg .
- Copy the following lines into it:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Idol FX]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Idol FX\Nosferatu]
"Adapter"="0"
"TextureQuality"="32"
"TextureFiltering"="2"
"AntiAlias"="0"
"LevelGeometry"="2"
"LevelTextures"="2"
"ParticleDetail"="2"
"SoundEnabled"="1"
"Width"="1280"
"Height"="960"
"Depth"="32"
- Save the file and then run it to add the keys to the registry.
- Run the game from
<path-to-game>\start.exe or else the default settings will be used.
Notes
- Launching the game from
start.exe will not grant any trading cards. It is recommended to launch the game from Steam and leave the game idle in the background for 1 hour to receive the 3 cards.
- The fix has not been tested on 32-bit operating systems. It may not work or may need to be applied differently.

Use RInput
|
- Open
RInput.exe .
- Type the executable's name (it's case-sensitive).

- The game has to be already running before doing this.
|
Poor performance with Proton 5.13-6 and newer (Linux)
- The game's performance is significantly degraded with Proton 5.13-6 and newer.
Use Proton 5.0-10 or older
|
- In the Compatibility tab of the game's Properties window in Steam, enable the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" option and select Proton 5.0-10 or older from the drop-down list.
|
Cutscenes not working with Proton 5.0-10 and older (Linux)
- The game's pre-rendered cutscenes do not work out-of-the-box with Proton 5.0-10 and older.
Install quartz.dll and disable winegstreamer.dll
|
- Install
quartz.dll using Protontricks: protontricks 283290 quartz
- In the General tab of the game's Properties window in Steam, put
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winegstreamer=" %command% in the launch options field.
