OneShot: World Machine Edition is a remake of OneShot developed by Future Cat and published by Komodo. It is a port of the console version of the same name, originally released on September 22, 2022.
Because OneShot relies on the user's native desktop and file system for puzzle solving and narrative purposes and the lack of mkxp support on consoles, the game was ported to a completely different engine and an original virtual operating system interface was created in order to emulate the same experience as on desktop computers.
The virtual OS contains additional features, including a music player, cutscene art gallery, selectable colors and wallpapers for the desktop that can be collected throughout the game, and a profile gallery with newly written information on characters across the story. The OneShot game inside of the OS itself has has minor improvements not found in the original release, such as full analog movement support and a visually updated fast travel menu.
