Postal is a singleplayer and multiplayer bird's-eye view and isometric shooter game in the Postal series developed by Running With Scissors and originally published by Ripcord Games.
Postal was released for Windows and Mac OS in September 1997, Linux on October 29, 2001, and OS X on July 26, 2005.[7][8][1]
The game was released digitally via GamersGate on October 30, 2008, GOG.com on April 22, 2009, Direct2Drive on February 6, 2011, and Steam on March 21, 2013.[9][10][11][12]
Several updates to the game were released throughout 2013 and 2015, improving compatibility with modern operating systems, implementing widescreen support, and introducing twin-stick controls.[13]
On December 28, 2016, Running With Scissors released the source code for Postal.[14] A community-contributed update for the game was subsequently released on November 14, 2017, reintroducing exclusive levels and audio from the Japanese release, improving mouse aim controls, and restoring LAN multiplayer, Challenge Mode level selection, Demo mode, and other legacy features.[15]

Version differences
- The European retail version of the base game has enemy executions and the Elementary School cutscene at the end of the game removed.
- Postal Plus, also known as Classic and Uncut, includes the Special Delivery expansion.
- The Japan-exclusive Super Postal includes two new levels, Tokyo and Osaka, in addition to the Special Delivery expansion.
- Digital versions include all additional content of previous releases and introduce many improvements, restorations, and fixes, such as native widescreen support, modern controls, restored multiplayer modes, new campaign options, and more.[16]
