In 2009, Lucasarts released The Secret of Monkey Island in a special edition version of the game. This version of the game is already fully compatible with new systems and no changes need to made to get the game to work. The new version includes,

  • All new art style, with hand-drawn art
  • Re-mastered music score
  • Complete re-done voice over using the original Monkey Island cast
  • Scene-for-scene hot swap between special edition and classic modes
