Issues and Fixes

Black screen on start up or random crashes during the game

• Don't run PAYDAY with Teamspeak 3 or Ventrilo - it can collide on start up and not start the game.

• PAYDAY does not work properly with PhysX beta drivers, to fix it do the following:

1. Exit Steam entirely.
2. Uninstall NVidia PhysX from the control panel (use ADD/REMOVE program in Windows to do this).
3. Go in your PAYDAY redist directory

   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\payday the heist\redist\

4. Run the DirectX installer

   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\payday the heist\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe

5. Run the PhysX installer

   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\payday the heist\redist\PhysX\PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe

6. Start Steam and play.

• ALIENWARE users make sure you have AlienFX installed.

Not fitting to screen despite running at 1080p

• Sometimes PAYDAY does not fit entirely to the user's screen even though the resolution is set to 1920x1080. Here's the solution:

1. Go to

   C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Local\PAYDAY\

2. Open the file named 'renderer_settings.xml' in Notepad.
3. There are two lines of text. On the bottom line, find where it says "resolution =" and make sure that's followed by "1920 1080".
4. Finally, then look for "refresh_rate =" and make sure that's followed by "60".
5. The game should be running entirely in full screen now.
