Version differences

Original releases

The floppy disk release came in two versions: one which supported EGA exclusively, and one which supported MCGA and VGA.
The CD-ROM release supports MCGA and VGA exclusively and is the only release to have digitized voiceovers.

Digital releases

The King's Quest Collection, the collection on Steam, is not properly configured for modern systems[3]
