Bandai Namco Entertainment is a Japanese multinational video game publisher and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings.
It was originally existed as two separate companies, Namco and Bandai, founded on June 1, 1955 and July 5, 1950 respectively, and the two companies were later merged and become Bandai Namco Holdings in 2005, and formed Bandai Namco Games (Namco Bandai Games outside of Asia until 2014) as a new game publishing entity in 2006. Although Bandai and Namco (now Bandai Namco Amusement) still exists, the two subsidiary companies of Bandai Namco Holdings are no longer handle the video game publishing as it is now handled by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Many of the IPs the publisher have were results of the mergers of multiple companies. Since the publisher is a subsidiary company of Bandai Namco Holdings, some of the licensed games were based on properties owns by other subsidiary companies, such as the Gundam series by Bandai Namco Filmworks (formerly Sunrise).
